Friends of Burke Mountain is thrilled that Burke has been designated by the U.S. Ski Team as an Official U.S. Ski Team Development Site. This is a transformational moment!
The project will bring U.S. Ski Team Members, as well as hundreds of young elite skiers, ski teams, their fans and families to the Burke Area. This means new jobs and economic opportunity for the Greater Burke Area, including secondary economic opportunity for area workers, merchants, inn keepers, restaurant owners, and other small businesses.
We congratulate and thank Burke Mountain Academy and Court-appointed Receiver Michael Goldberg for reaching this historic agreement with the U.S. Ski Team. We are also especially pleased that the agreement announced today will preserve recreational skiing at Burke Mountain.
